"Predator," released in 1987, is a sci-fi action thriller directed by John McTiernan. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dutch, the leader of an elite military rescue team on a mission in a Central American jungle. Their mission takes a terrifying turn when they encounter an advanced extraterrestrial hunter, the Predator, which begins to stalk and kill them one by one. Kevin Peter Hall plays the Predator, and Carl Weathers plays Dillon, a CIA officer and an old friend of Dutch.
The story takes place in 1987, after "Prey" (1719), which serves as its prequel. In "Predator 2" (1997), federal agent Peter Keyes has been trying to capture one of the creatures ever since this incident in Central America. The extended cut of "Predator: Killer of Killers" later shows Dutch held in stasis by the Predators.
