"Predator: 1718," published by Dark Horse Comics in July 1996, is a short story from the anthology "A Decade of Dark Horse" #1, released for the publisher's tenth anniversary. Written by Henry Gilroy, it was drawn and colored by Igor Kordey.
In 1718, the Italian pirate captain Raphael Adolini drops anchor at a small island off the Guinea Coast of Africa. His men have looted a church and killed its priest, and Adolini orders them to give the gold back. The crew turns on him. A Predator has been watching from the forest, and it joins the fight.
The story tells how the flintlock pistol engraved "Raphael Adolini 1715," seen at the end of "Predator 2," came to the Predators. The 2022 film "Prey" later gave the pistol a different history.
Off the Guinea Coast in 1718, pirate captain Raphael Adolini faces a mutiny over gold stolen from a church. A Predator watching from the trees joins the fight.
