The Predator is a movie released in 2018. Its story takes place in 2018, 8 years after Predators (2010) and 75 years before Prometheus (2093). In the Predator movies timeline, it comes after Predators (2010) and before Predator: Badlands (around 2400).

"The Predator," released in 2018, is a sci-fi action film directed by Shane Black. The story centers on a young boy who accidentally triggers the return of the universe's most lethal hunters to Earth. The boy's father, Army Ranger sniper Quinn McKenna (Boyd Holbrook), must team up with a ragtag group of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled scientist (Olivia Munn) to stop the genetically enhanced Predators from annihilating humanity.
The film is set in 2018, at the time of its release. It follows on from "Predator 2" (1997): Sean Keyes (Jake Busey), one of the government scientists studying the captured Predator, is the son of agent Peter Keyes from that film. The scientists also learn that the Predators have been improving their species with human DNA.
When a young boy accidentally triggers the universe's most lethal hunters' return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled scientist can prevent the end of the human race.
