XENOMORPH TIMELINE
"Aliens: Special" is a black-and-white one-shot anthology released by Dark Horse Comics in June 1997. It contains two new stories: "45 Seconds," written by Darko Macan and drawn by Frank Teran, and "Elder Gods," written by Nancy A. Collins and pencilled by Leif Jones.
In "45 Seconds," a Colonial Marine is sent to clean out an infestation. He has a job to do and a pulse bomb with a 45-second detonator. The clock is already ticking when he comes face to face with the Queen.
"Elder Gods" takes place in 2100 on Mira Ceti 4, an Omni-Tech outpost home to 532 workers. A mystic sect, the Esoteric Brotherhood of Tulitu, is put on quarry duty and digs up an enormous buried statue. The brothers believe they have found the crypt of their god. Collins based the story on H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos.
Two black-and-white Aliens stories in one issue. A lone Colonial Marine races a 45-second bomb timer, and a religious sect on a remote mining outpost unearths what it believes is a holy idol.
