David's Lab: Last Signs of Life is a short film released in 2019. Its story takes place around 2117, about 13 years after Alien: Covenant (2104) and about 5 years before Alien (2122). In the Alien movies timeline, it comes after Advent (2104) and before Alien: Harvest (around 2119).
David's Lab: Last Signs of Life is a 2019 short film released on the Alien Anthology YouTube channel to celebrate the two-year anniversary of the Alien: Covenant home video release. It was made in partnership with YouTube Space LA, which helped recreate David's laboratory from the film's set.
A Weyland-Yutani team arrives on Planet 4, and one of the explorers enters David's abandoned laboratory to document the rogue synthetic's experiments, from dissected Neomorphs to a vial of black liquid. As he examines the room, an egg he has been scanning begins to show signs of life.
