Predator (Novelization)

Description

"Predator," published by Jove Books in June 1987, is the novelization of the film of the same name. It was written by Paul Monette from the screenplay by Jim Thomas and John Thomas.

Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer and his men are flown into the jungle for what should be a simple rescue job. After they wipe out a guerrilla camp, the team starts losing men to a hunter they cannot see. Soon only Dutch is left to face it.

The book takes several liberties with the film. A prologue shows the hunter studying Earth from its ship, and the mission is set in Guatemala. Here the Predator is a shapeshifter that can copy the animals it touches, and Billy, the team's tracker, has real psychic powers.

Synopsis

Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer and his commandos are sent into the Central American jungle on a rescue mission. One by one, they are hunted down by a creature they cannot see.
