Aliens: Countdown

Description

"Aliens: Countdown" is a 14-part comic book story serialized by Dark Horse Comics in its promotional magazine "Dark Horse Insider" (#14 to #27) from September 1990 to October 1991. Written by Mike Richardson and drawn in black and white by Den Beauvais, it is a companion piece to "Aliens: Nightmare Asylum."

The government is pulling out of Earth and the Aliens are winning. Three Colonial Marines are left in New York. Silk, an officer, chose to stay and fight. Tom and Phil Sandberg, the narrator, were simply listed as "non-vital." They search a bio-research building for clues about the invasion and find it overrun. A dead employee has set off a nuclear self-destruct, and the clock says 53 minutes.

In 1993 the British "Aliens" magazine gave the story away as two free mini-comics. Marvel collected it in "Aliens: The Original Years" in 2021.
