Aliens: Outbreak

Description

"Aliens: Outbreak," originally published as "Aliens," is a six-issue comic book series released by Dark Horse Comics from July 1988 to July 1989. Written by Mark Verheiden and drawn by Mark A. Nelson, it was the first Dark Horse Aliens comic and a direct sequel to the film "Aliens."

Ten years after Hadley's Hope, Hicks is still a Marine, but the Corps keeps him at arm's length. Newt is locked away in a psychiatric institution. When Dr. Orona sends a mission to the Aliens' homeworld to bring back a specimen, Hicks breaks Newt out and smuggles her aboard. On Earth, the company Bionational studies a man carrying an Alien embryo, and a preacher of the Church of Immaculate Incubation hails the creatures as the true Messiah in his broadcasts.

Steve Perry adapted the series into the novel "Aliens: Earth Hive" in 1992. Like the novel, the 1996 reprint renamed Hicks and Newt as Wilks and Billie after "Alien 3."

Synopsis

Ten years after LV-426, a scarred Hicks breaks Newt out of a psychiatric hospital and takes her on a Marine mission to the Aliens' homeworld. Back on Earth, a captured Alien is about to get loose.
