Predator: Forever Midnight

Description

"Predator: Forever Midnight," published in May 2006 by DH Press, the book imprint of Dark Horse, is an original novel by John Shirley, with a cover by Stephen Youll. It was the first Predator novel from DH Press. Shirley gives the Predators his own name and culture, the Hish.

In 2117, humans travel between the stars using reverse-engineered alien technology, and no Predator has been seen for a hundred years. Midnight is a jungle planet lit by daylight for years at a time, where more than a thousand colonists are building a settlement. When a ship carrying United Nations troopers reaches the system, Predators board it. Commander Randall Ness and a few survivors crash far from the colony, where his wife and son live, and have to cross the jungle to reach them.

A prologue is set in 1804.

Synopsis

In 2117, the Predators return after a century of silence and attack the colony world Midnight. Commander Randall Ness and a few UN troopers crash far from the settlement and must cross the jungle to reach it.
