Alien (1984 Game)

Description

"Alien," released in 1984, is a strategy and adventure game developed by Concept Software and published by Argus Press Software for the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum. An Amstrad CPC version followed in 1985.

The whole game takes place aboard the Nostromo, shown as a map of the ship. Through menus, the player gives orders to every member of the crew, sending them from room to room and having them pick up weapons and tools such as nets and incinerators. One crew member dies at the start when the Alien is born. The creature then hides away and grows before it starts hunting the others.

Each character's state of mind changes with events, and a frightened crew member may refuse an order. One of them is secretly an android who will turn on the others. Once only three are left, the player can set the ship to self-destruct and escape in the Narcissus.

Synopsis

The crew of the Nostromo must track down and kill the Alien before it picks them off, while one of them is secretly an android working against the others.
