XENOMORPH TIMELINE
"Alien Resurrection," released on October 20, 2000, is a first-person shooter developed by Argonaut Games and published by Fox Interactive for the PlayStation. Work began in 1996 for a release alongside the 1997 film. Argonaut first built an overhead shooter, then restarted the project as a 3D action-adventure, and only switched to a first-person view in late 1998.
The game follows the story of the film. A cloned Ripley wakes aboard the USM Auriga. When the Xenomorphs bred from the Queen taken out of her body escape containment, she must team up with a band of mercenaries to get off the ship. The player takes control of Ripley, Call, DiStephano and Christie in turn, with tasks such as killing failed Ripley clones or ejecting overheating escape pods. Three actors from the film, including Raymond Cruz and Gary Dourdan, reprise their roles.
A cloned Ripley wakes aboard the USM Auriga as the Aliens break out of containment, and must team up with a band of mercenaries to escape the ship.
