XENOMORPH TIMELINE
"Aliens: Space Marines" is a series of twelve mini-comics published by Dark Horse Comics in 1992 and packed with Kenner's "Aliens" action figures. They were written by Dan Jolley, with covers by Joe Phillips and Mark A. Nelson and interiors by several artists, among them John Nadeau on the last four.
Lieutenant Ripley leads the Space Marines from one infested world to the next. Bishop is now a bald combat android with a dark visor, and Sergeant Apone has a cybernetic arm. Their enemies are Aliens shaped by the DNA of their hosts, such as the Scorpion Alien or the Gorilla Alien, each sold as a figure. Most issues end on a cliffhanger picked up in the next one.
The series sits outside the film continuity and ignores "Alien 3." A thirteenth mini-comic, "Aliens vs. Predator: The Ultimate Battle," closed the run with a stand-alone story. Marvel collected the twelve Aliens comics in 2021.
Lieutenant Ripley and an elite team of Space Marines hunt Aliens across the galaxy, including strange breeds that have taken on the traits of their animal hosts. Mini-comics made for Kenner's toy line.
