Aliens Adventure Game

Description

"Aliens Adventure Game," published by Leading Edge Games in 1991, is a tabletop role-playing game based on the 1986 film "Aliens." It was designed by Barry Nakazono and David McKenzie, and McKenzie wrote its 194-page rulebook.

Players usually take the roles of Colonial Marines, but the book also offers other careers, such as corporate mercenary or explorer. The rules are a simplified version of the "Phoenix Command" system. Combat relies on tables and hit locations instead of hit points, and gunfights are very lethal.

The rulebook also describes the universe of the films. It gives a history of space colonization up to the time of "Aliens," with a star map of the colonies, and expands the role of the Interstellar Commerce Commission. It introduces new species such as the Harvesters. Some of this material was later contradicted by other "Alien" stories.

Synopsis

From the ruins of the colony destroyed by the Aliens to the greed of Earth itself, players join the Colonial Marine Corps to face the Aliens and corrupt humans.
