Aliens: Once in a Lifetime

Description

"Aliens: Once in a Lifetime" is a black-and-white short story published by Dark Horse Comics in "Dark Horse Presents" #140 in February 1999. It was written by Philip Amara and Mark Schultz, pencilled by Rick Leonardi and inked by Bob Wiacek. Leonardi and Wiacek also drew the issue's Aliens cover.

The story ties in with "Aliens: Apocalypse," which Schultz was writing at the same time. The Geholgod Institute, the scientific venture of Dr. Lucien Keitel, has acquired Tirgu-Mires, a planet where Aliens thrive and have never met humans. It sends Dr. Natasha Pho, a morphologist, and Dr. Kira Nix, an animal language specialist, to study a secluded hive near an oasis called Well's Church.

Like "Apocalypse," the story looks at the Aliens' past and at how they adapt to their surroundings. It was the last Aliens story in "Dark Horse Presents" until 2012.

Synopsis

On the planet Tirgu-Mires, two Geholgod Institute scientists study a secluded Alien hive that has never been exposed to humans. A short story tied to "Aliens: Apocalypse."
