XENOMORPH TIMELINE
"Predator: Concrete Jungle," published by Bantam Books in 1995, is a novel by Nathan Archer, a pen name of Lawrence Watt-Evans, with a cover by Dave Dorman. It adapts the 1989 Dark Horse comic of the same name and was the first of three Predator novels from Bantam.
New York is stuck in a record heat wave and a drug war. Detectives John Schaefer and Rasche find a gang meeting turned into a slaughter, the bodies skinned and hung from the rafters, and are told to leave the case to the feds. Then Schaefer comes face to face with the killer and ends up in hospital with an alien device fixed to his neck. He starts to suspect that the hunter is linked to the disappearance of his brother Dutch in Central America.
The novel adds a few scenes that are not in the comic. Its sequel, "Predator: Cold War," followed in 1997.
During a record New York heat wave, detectives Schaefer and Rasche track a killer who skins the city's gangsters. The trail leads to an alien hunter and to the disappearance of Schaefer's brother Dutch.
