XENOMORPH TIMELINE
"Alien 3" is the title of four different games based on the 1992 film. Probe Software developed a run and gun game released in October 1992 on the Sega Genesis and Master System, followed by versions for home computers and the Game Gear. Probe also made separate games for the NES and the Super NES, both published by LJN in 1993. The Game Boy game, developed by B.I.T.S. and published by LJN, came out in January 1993.
In the Probe games, Ellen Ripley makes her way through the Fiorina 161 prison, overrun by Aliens. Unlike in the film, she is armed with a pulse rifle and grenades, and a motion tracker warns her of nearby enemies. Every level has a time limit, and she must rescue trapped prisoners or complete tasks given at computer terminals. The hunt ends with a battle against the Queen. The Game Boy game uses an overhead view and puts more weight on exploration and puzzles.
Ripley fights the Aliens inside the Fiorina 161 prison in four different games based on the 1992 film, released from 1992 on Sega and Nintendo consoles and home computers.
