XENOMORPH TIMELINE
"Aliens," released in January 1990, is a run and gun arcade game developed and published by Konami and based on the 1986 film. It was directed by Satoru Okamoto, and two players can play it together.
Hadley's Hope has lost contact, and the Colonial Marines of the Sulaco go in to investigate. The players control Ellen Ripley or Corporal Hicks, who start with a smart gun and can pick up flamethrowers and rocket or grenade launchers. Besides the creatures seen in the films, Konami added many Aliens of its own, some of which fly or shoot lasers. Some stages switch to a rail shooter view, and others let the player drive a Power Loader.
The last boss is the Queen, fought from inside a Power Loader. Three stages of the American version also involve rescuing Newt, who was removed from the Japanese release.
Ripley and Hicks fight hordes of Aliens, many of them new breeds invented for the game, before facing the Queen in a Power Loader.
