The player controls Ellen Ripley on a planet overrun by Xenomorphs. She starts with a basic gun. Facehuggers emerge from the eggs, and once a Facehugger is dead, shooting its egg can reveal hand grenades, stronger guns or wings that let her jump higher and further. Snakes also roam the surface.
After clearing the surface, Ripley enters a complex guarded by a giant adult Xenomorph, and the following levels take place inside.
